“When I decided to remodel my hall bath in the fall, I researched quite a few companies online and interviewed three. Of the three I met with, it was an easy decision to select RBR. 

The owner, Tom Scanlon, explained very precisely what would be done, when it would be done, and how it would be done. The quote he gave me was detailed and exact. Adam, who did the remodeling, came on time, worked diligently, and cleaned up each day. 

Tom also stopped by each day to oversee the work. I was so pleased with the final product that I immediately made arrangements to have RBR remodel my master bath in December 2016. 

One aspect that I was particularly appreciative of is that Tom made arrangements for me to meet with a tile designer, bathroom designer, and stone/quartz fabricator.  These professionals also worked me through the process and offered valuable suggestions, while always keeping my budget in mind.  

If I had any questions, Tom and his staff, especially his delightful office manager Lee Anne, were readily available. I have received many compliments on the 2 remodels, and I wholeheartedly recommend RBR for anyone looking for a professional, well-priced company.”

Historic Bathroom Remodel

“My husband & I live in a historic home on the national registry with the United States Department of Interior. Our home was designed by students of Frank Lloyd Wright and built-in 1905. The home has never left the family and now is in its fifth generation. 

Our bathrooms on the second floor were the originals and we started to have a water leak from the cast iron tub that was going into the first-floor den ceiling, so it was time to start addressing the problem. 

After exhaustive research (most contractors wouldn’t even touch it because the home was over 100+ years old) I found ROOM BY ROOM. This contractor had done work for HGTV, and I thought that if they had worked for them, then HGTV had most likely done a great job of vetting this contractor.

ROOM BY ROOM was not at all intimidated by our job. In fact, they felt honored to be working in a historic home and considered it to be a great learning experience for all of us. 

We worked collaboratively on the design for it was important to us that it looks vintage and within the Frank Lloyd Wright style, but be new and improved. We succeed in this goal. The project was managed by Mr. Frank Folisi along with a team of professionals all of whom displayed excellent skill sets. 

The team was honest, hard-working, respectful, good communicators, and all around just good people. The quote was on target, the project timeline was spot on, the crew came every day, and because I did not want a dumpster in front of the house they took the garbage out every day and swept up before they left! In fact, the City of Berwyn who inspected the project shared with us how impressed they were with this company. Our bathrooms look amazing, so beautiful, and turned out better than I even imagined. 

My friends and family cannot believe the transformation. Mr. Folisi took pictures throughout the job, so when you have him come out to do your quote, ask him to take a look you will be amazed as well. I cannot express how satisfied we are with this organization.”

Total Bathroom Renovation & Second Floor Laundry Area Remodel

“INCREDIBLY, this was the first company my husband and I hired whose professionals were ON-TIME EVERYDAY, had someone working at the site EVERYDAY, and did a FABULOUS job. We live in an old house (built in 1897). 

RBR respected our vision of keeping the integrity of the home we love while helping us make aesthetic decisions. The work included gutting a horrible 1950’s bathroom (including a cast-iron tub) and framing part of an adjacent closet for the new laundry area on day one. 

Mario & crew poured new concrete for the shower base, removed cast iron plumbing & installed new PVC/copper piping, vents/water mains/gray box & 220 electrical for stackable laundry units, added a seat & niche to the expanded shower area, ceramic floor and shower tiling, new window, door casing and floor trim, and installation of new cabinets & glass backsplashes. 

Mario and his fantastic crew paid attention to details- our bathroom is SHOWROOM BEAUTIFUL!! But everyone– from Ms. Butler at the home office, to Mr. Folisi, our sales person and main contact, to & Mark the electrician–was responsive, professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, CLEAN, and considerate.

Other than some extra costs associated with electrical, (we expected (and budgeted for) this old house encountering some electrical issues) there were NO surprises that threw our budget off track. Of course, what every homeowner dreads…the final inspection; PIECE OF CAKE! 

Everything was approved and we are loving our new bathroom and second-floor laundry. Our only regret is that we hadn’t known about RBR prior to hiring other people for our other major remodels. We would recommend RBR for complete gut remodels and would only want to work with the same crew! THEY WERE AWESOME!!”

“Working with RBR was great. From our first meeting with Rick, we felt confident this was the company to go with. He walked us through step by step. He came with us to all of our appointments to pick out tile, fixtures and our vanity top. Since this was our first major remodel we knew nothing. Him and LeeAnn in the office were great about answering all of our questions. 

The crew that did the work was also great. Tino and his guys were prompt and worked continuously to get the job done. They did a tremendous job. We couldn’t be happier. They were very patient when we had to stop them to make crucial decisions on the placement of items. 

Once the job was complete and we found a small leak under our sink they were very quick to come out and remedy it. LeeAnn even followed up a few days later to make sure it was still all okay. Great people and quality all around.  We will definitely recommend them to family and friends.”

Double Bathroom Remodel

“I purchased the home a few years ago. I love the house and the neighborhood. However, two bathrooms and the powder room were out-of-date. From the colors and materials, I think they had been there since the 1950s or even earlier. I talked with several general contractors and was so glad to finally work with RoomByRoom. 

Frank was our field contact. He’s very easy to work with and always on top of everything. To give you a few examples. When I was at the tile shop, I called Frank to ask about the number of tiles needed. He picked up the phone right away – and that’s on a Saturday. When we needed some more materials, I ordered them over the phone and Frank was so kind as to pick them up for me. When I asked Frank questions or raised concerns, he’s always very responsive. I, myself, am a certified project manager, I know how important this kind of communication is crucial to a project. 

I never met Lee Anne in person. However, she coordinated everything from the office, not only with their crew but also with other parties such as the fabricator, fixture seller, glass door provider, etc. She managed the logistics perfectly and was always responsive too. To be honest, there were unexpected issues. However, we always had mutual respect and worked together for the right solutions. 

I love the new bathrooms and powder room. I enjoyed working with Frank, Lee Anne, and their crew. I felt they loved what they did and wanted to make things perfect. They did not just make the money and leave. I trust and strongly recommend RoomByRoom.”
